The case

A single locking system for technical rooms and objects at stations

NS manages various technical rooms and objects at stations throughout the country. Both its own employees and subcontractors work there. Since 2006, NS has regulated access to these assets with a mechatronic locking system from Sellox: CyberLock cylinders with central management software.

The system has grown along with the organization and the station network and now numbers several thousand cylinders.

Key rights, central management

NS uses CyberLock cylinders and electronic keys. The access rights are stored on the key and are managed centrally.

A key only opens the technical rooms and objects at stations for which the user has rights.

Update and read out

NS uses Bluetooth keys (CyberKey Blue) that are updated via the phone. In addition, there are keys that are validated using an encoder connected to a laptop or phone. The log files are also read out during the update process.
